To get started, it’s important to learn the basics of welding and to learn the various techniques. This course allows the participant to practice general proficiency as well as prepare for C.W.B. qualification testing. The shop is equipped for the following processes:
The welding shop is open Monday & Wednesdays from 5-9 PM, and most Saturdays from 8 AM - 2 PM. Due to current physical distancing policies, please call ahead to confirm your spot.
If you can’t read a blueprint, you won’t be able to contribute to the project. We offer various blueprint reading courses at the training centre and duration varies for each. Please specify which course you are interested in taking when you submit your application for one of the following:
This course will give the successful applicant a comprehensive background in using optical instruments for plumbing, aligning and layout on contractors levels, transits, theodolites, digital theodolites and total stations.
This course will give the successful applicant a generic certification for all arrest and travel restraint systems.
This course will give the successful applicant a valid emergency first aid certificate with a three year expiry as per St. John Ambulance regulations.
This course will give the successful applicant a background on current health and safety in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
This course will give the successful applicant a comprehensive background in fibre-line and wire rope rigging and rigging accessories and applications.
